What are veneers, and who are they for?

Veneers are thin, custom shells bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their colour, shape and evenness for a natural-looking smile. They suit front teeth with issues of colour, shape or small chips — without braces or full crowns.

Your dentist designs the tooth shape and picks a shade to suit your face and natural teeth before starting. Materials include composite (tooth-coloured resin) and ceramic, which is stronger and keeps its colour longer.

Who it's for
Discoloured or uneven teeth that don't respond to whitening
Chipped, worn or oddly shaped front teeth
Small gaps between front teeth, without braces
Teeth that are smaller or shorter than the others

Frequently asked questions

How long do veneers last?
Composite veneers last around 3–5 years, while ceramic veneers can last 10 years or more with good care — depending on how you look after them and habits such as biting hard objects.
Do veneers need a lot of tooth shaved down?
Only a thin layer of enamel is shaped as needed. Composite often needs very little or none; ceramic needs a little more for a snug fit. Your dentist assesses and explains before starting.
Composite or ceramic — what's the difference?
Composite is affordable, done in one visit and easy to repair, but stains and wears more easily. Ceramic is stronger, keeps its colour and looks the most natural, but costs more and takes longer.
How much do veneers cost? Can I pay in instalments?
Composite veneers start at 3,500–5,000 THB per tooth and ceramic at 12,000–18,000 THB per tooth. 0% instalments are available up to 10 months via participating credit cards.
How do I care for veneers?
Brush and floss as normal, avoid biting hard objects with your front teeth, and see your dentist for regular check-ups.
