What is a dental bridge, and who is it for?

A dental bridge is a fixed replacement for one or more missing teeth. The teeth on either side of the gap are shaped as anchors, then crowns are joined together as a single unit to close the gap — so you chew naturally, with nothing to remove and clean like a removable denture.

The dentist assesses the strength of the anchor teeth and the bone from your X-rays before planning. The price is counted by the number of joined units (usually one crown per tooth). It typically takes 2–3 visits to cement the permanent bridge.

Frequently asked questions

How is a bridge different from an implant?
A bridge uses the neighbouring teeth as anchors and requires shaping them, and is finished faster. An implant places a root into the bone without touching neighbouring teeth but takes longer. The dentist helps compare what suits your case.
Does getting a bridge hurt?
Shaping the teeth is done under local anaesthetic, so it is painless during the procedure. You may feel slight sensitivity with the temporary bridge, which eases once the permanent one is cemented.
How much does a bridge cost? Can I pay in instalments?
The price is counted by the number of joined units and the material; a 3-unit bridge starts from around 30,000 THB. 0% instalments are available up to 10 months via participating credit cards.
How do I care for a bridge?
Brush and use a floss threader to clean under the pontic. Come for check-ups and scaling on schedule to care for the anchor teeth and gums.
