What is a denture, and who is it for?

A removable denture replaces missing teeth — partial or full — and can be taken out to clean. It helps you chew, speak clearly and smile with confidence again, and is a great-value option that works in many cases where an implant or bridge isn't convenient.

The dentist assesses your gums, ridge and remaining teeth, then chooses the right denture base — value acrylic, thin and strong metal-frame, or a flexible type with no visible metal clasps. It usually takes 2–4 visits to get a denture that fits well.

Which is better, acrylic or metal-frame?

Acrylic is affordable and easy to adjust, ideal for first-time wearers. Metal-frame is thinner, stronger and more comfortable with less bulk. The dentist recommends by your mouth condition and budget.

Does it take long to get used to a first denture?

At first it may feel awkward — speaking or chewing can be tricky and there may be sore spots, which is normal. We schedule adjustments to improve the fit; most people adapt within a few weeks.

How much does a denture cost? Can I pay in instalments?

How do I care for a denture?
